Women-specific defense concepts, pistol safety principles, and choosing a firearm for personal protection will be explored.

Overview: Idaho Women’s Only Workshop 103

Topics include ammunition selection, women’s holstering options, situational awareness, cover & concealment, defensive mindset,  personal defense strategies, basic shooting techniques, an overview of Idaho gun laws, interstate travel with a firearm, proper interaction with police, the aftermath of a shooting event, and much more!

This course is extremely informative and designed to prepare ladies better to carry a firearm responsibly and confidently in public.  Instruction by certified Level 1 Firearms Training experts and qualified guest instructors. This is a great class to take with a friend.

Some of the topics discussed in classes include:

The Four Levels of Mental Awareness

Color-Code: RED

Situational Awareness - Color Coding

The box to the left represents a color-coding process that identifies which stage of awareness you are currently experiencing.

In this system, being “engaged” means you have pulled your firearm to defend yourself. This is where you really need proper training to know if you’re pressing the trigger or if the attacker is backing down. In either situation, it’s never a good position to be facing.

You have probably decided to reach for your firearm, but it still may not be too late. Perhaps the presentation of the firearm will defuse the threat. This is where your training is so important by keeping your finger off the trigger, upstanding it is far easier and less dangerous to walk away (you can call this a “tactical retreat”). Understand the laws of your state and be sure you have had substantial training with your firearm.

Reactions to an Attack

Posturing

Posturing is the act of pretending to be ready for a fight, acting tougher than you look, and able to win a fight. Posturing includes verbal and non-verbal communication, body language, appearance, and willingness to accept the challenge. Actions such as shouting your commands, using an authoritative voice, and taking a boxing or martial arts fighting stance all are examples of posturing. In essence, posturing is fighting without the physical attributes attached to it.

The Emotional Impact of a Defensive Shooting

Acceptance

Acceptance is the final stage of a journey after having to face a self-defense shooting. Acceptance can be viewed as individuals accepting responsibility for their actions.

While everything they did was justified, it takes time for acceptance to take place. There are good days and bad days, each building to a final resolution of the event. Ultimately, those reaching out during the acceptance stage need support from their family, loved ones, and friends. By building a healthy support team, acceptance arrives, and where life can continue without any regrets.

These are just some of the many topics we will cover when attending the Women’s Idaho Enhanced Concealed Carry Class. We look forward to seeing you in class and assisting you in developing your defensive mindset for protecting your neighbors, friends, family, and home.

This is a Two Day Class!

Why is this a 2-day course? Our Idaho Enhanced Concealed Carry Weapons Class is the best concealed carry training you will receive. We want you to be properly trained when carrying a firearm in public; there are no shortcuts to carrying concealed properly.

Indoor ranges in Idaho do not accommodate outside instructors which makes no sense – we are literally bringing them, customers! We have chosen to utilize one of the several outdoor ranges in the Treasure Valley that like us bringing them customers. Indoor ranges are loud, really loud. You cannot hear the instructor while training and are extremely restrictive with what you can teach.

Indoor ranges do not accommodate drawing from holster nor do they allow movement on the range. Indoor ranges are loud, have long wait times on the weekends, and charge as much as 25/hr in some locations we train. We have chosen to utilize one of the several outdoor ranges so we can train you correctly without the need to rush you through the skill-building portion of the class. You learn in a safe, comfotable, and fairly quiet environment.

Outdoor ranges are extremely hot or cold in the late afternoons which distracts new students from concentrating. By shooting early in the morning the following day of class, students are fresh and ready to train for self-defense shooting skills.
